More about Evie

I am a 23 year singer, songwriter and performer from Knoxville, TN (go Vols!!!). Music has always been a part of my life from as far back as I can remember. I am the youngest of four siblings who were also involved in music growing up, so naturally I wanted to follow in their footsteps. I sang in church choir and competitive/advanced choir in school, taking on solos and participating in competitions, but I didn’t take my craft as seriously until my senior year of high school when I began taking private voice lessons. I learned that to have a natural talent is a gift, but to learn and maintain healthy vocal technique is what prolongs and improves that natural ability.

After high school, I decided to attend Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) to study the recording industry with a focus in commercial songwriting and a minor in musical theatre. Through my years in high school and college, I would perform the national anthem at various sporting events, award ceremonies and church events. During my time at MTSU, I was classically vocally trained and sang in the MTSU Women’s Chorale, Schola Cantorum and was lead soprano II in the competitive jazz a capella group, MTSU Singers, lead by Grammy award winning vocal arranger and mentor, Cedric Dent.

Today, I teach voice at a local voice studio in Murfreesboro, TN and I am going after my goals as a singer, songwriter and artist. I primarily write R&B music, but I have versatility in what I sing and write, genre-wise. I do not currently have any of my own music on streaming platforms yet, but I am working on single releases before a debut EP. Stay tuned :)
